Judicial Review

With a background of more than 20 years of experience, the practice has provided comprehensive legal services and results-oriented advice to clients in the area of judicial review of administrative actions. The term judicial review is not expressly used in Bangladeshi laws, but Article 102 of the Constitution of Bangladesh allows writ petitions to be filed at the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh for reviewing the actions of public authorities or suspending proceedings in lower courts. The practice has made substantial achievements in the area of judicial review and one of the most significant achievements of the practice till date is obtaining from the High Court Division a declaration that the seventh amendment to the Constitution is unconstitutional, which was later affirmed by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
